No vehicles in the zone

Teal poles near the dunes mark conservation zones. Drunk driving and parking are not allowed in these areas. Protect endangered plants and animals by keeping your vehicle out of the zone.

Keep your car out of the zone indicated by these poles.Endangered and threatened sea turtles nest on Sandy Beach. To protect the turtles, your Conservation Society regulates beach driving and parking. When tides reduce the driving lane to less than 30 feet, the Beach Patrol must suspend beach driving and parking until the water recedes.

Extreme weather and tidal conditions also may limit parking and driving in some areas of the beach for longer periods. During extreme tides, some areas may be closed to vehicles two hours before and after high tide. Once Beach Patrol officers have announced the beach will close, vehicles must leave immediately without encroaching on the conservation zone. The beach will reopen as soon as conditions permit.

To report violations, please call Sandy Beach Conservation Society -- Beach Safety, at (800) 555-6484 or (800) 555-2345 between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. After hours, please call the Lake Wobegon County Sheriff's Office at (800) 555-1777 or (800) 555-3888.  Press 0 after the prompt.
